eBay

OAuth, Inventory API items and offers, and how eBay listings stay tied to canonical SKUs.

OAuth

Connect eBay from Destinations. Refresh tokens are stored per destination account. Use a sandbox app until the payload is correct; production listing policies (return, payment, shipping) must already exist on the eBay account — eListSync maps product data, not your business policies.

Inventory API

Publish creates inventory items from canonical variants (SKU, condition, availability) then offers that point at those items. The canonical SKU is the join key. Changing a SKU after listing can orphan the eBay item; prefer updating quantity and price on the same SKU.

Offers and policies

Category, condition, and fulfillment policies are eBay-side. If the transformer cannot find a required policy id in destination settings, the sync log fails with a mapper error instead of publishing a half-offer.

Common errors

  • Token expired — reconnect OAuth
  • Invalid category — set eBay category on metadata
  • Policy missing — configure return/payment/shipping on eBay, then retry
  • Quantity 0 — ingest stock was empty; eBay may reject the offer
